RE: Lotus Domino software requirements on a Linux server ~Evelyn Opkikonylen 25.Aug.03 06:19 PM a Web browser Domino Administrator 6.0.2 CF1Linux - RedHat
1. No, you can't install the client software on a linux server, and you don't need to
2. Administration can be done remotely, using the adminstration client, or via http (using the webadmin.nsf database). You can also use a few consoles on the server, including cconsole and Jconsole. The latter is the most interesting (well, I think so anyway), but requires the server to be started using the Domino Controller.
3. Yes, but it's not supported. You can find tips to do it elsewhere on this forum.
4. You can upgrade your client software using the incremental installers, and the same for your servers (it's an other upgrade, though)
5. You can access a R6 server using any client, starting from 4.6.7 - but of course you'll loose the R6 specific features.
Download the redbook on Domino on Linux from the redbook website, that's a good way to start!
